“Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.”– Philippians 4:15
As God gave me the revelation of how to receive anything I want from him through the 4 Steps To A Winning Faith, I started engaging my faith by setting outrageous, yearly financial targets that are naturally unrealistic within my means.
Then as I followed through the 4 Steps of a winning faith to achieve the financial target, the Lord gave me a very powerful revelation for consistently accessing my portion of divine wealth in Christ Jesus…
And that secret is the same popular, but very potent, old secret of “Giving and Receiving.”
Even though I had been paying Tithe and giving before receiving that striking revelation from God, as I intensified my giving by faith, the results has been very awesome.
Now returning to our theme text — Philippians 4:15 — the Apostle Paul says, in the beginning of his gospel, no church communicated with him concerning giving and receiving, except the Philippians Church.
And after all his remarks, in verse 19 of the same chapter, he prays for them that God will supply all their needs according to his riches in glory, in Christ Jesus.
Then before Paul, the Lord Jesus first taught about giving and receiving. In Luke 6:38 he says — “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.“
Hence, giving and receiving is an eternal scriptural key for accessing our heritage of divine order of wealth and riches in Christ Jesus.
And if you must access your own portion of wealth and riches in glory in Christ Jesus, added to the other keys shared, you must also subscribe to a lifestyle of giving.
Fruitful Scriptural Giving Channels
Having scripturally established the truth that giving is a major key for accessing our wealth and riches in Christ Jesus, in this section, we now discuss the different scriptural giving channels that guarantee fruitful returns…
1. Tithes and Offerings: Malachi 3:10 — “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
In the above text, God says if we prove or challenge him by bringing all our Tithes into his storehouse, he will open the windows of heaven and pour us blessings that we will not have enough room to accommodate. So paying your tithes and offerings is a major fruitful giving channel.
2. Giving to the Poor: Proverbs 19:17 — “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
Pitying the poor in the context of the above text means, helping or giving to the poor and needy people in the Church, and in our neighborhoods. The text says anyone that gives to the poor, lends unto God, and God will pay him back. And of course, when God pays back, it will definitely be in multiplied fold. So we should make giving to the poor and needy people around us a lifestyle.
3. Giving to the Ministers of the Gospel: Romans 15:27 — “It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.”
In the above scripture, the Apostle Paul says, as the Ministers of the gospel Minister spiritual things to believers, it is the duty of the believers being ministered to, to also reciprocate with carnal (material) things. So giving to gospel Ministers is a fruitful giving channel that provokes divine blessings including wealth and riches.
4. Giving to Parents: Ephesians 6:2-3 — “Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;). That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”
The above text says we should honour our fathers and mothers so that it may be well with us and we may live long on earth. And a major way of honouring your father and mother, is by taking good care of them and also giving to them within your means and resources. Hence caring for and giving to our parents is one of the fruitful giving channels for accessing our wealth and riches in Christ Jesus.
How to Ensure We Receive As We Give
In the earlier quoted scripture of the Lord Jesus’ teaching in Luke 6:38, the Lord says we should give and it shall be given back to us in multiplied and overflowing fold. Hence, as you commit yourself to obeying the word of God in giving through the above scripturally listed channels, you should always be expectant of multiplied and bountiful returns from God. Because it takes faith to receive anything from God.
While you should give to people without expecting anything in return from them, you should always be expecting bountiful returns from God for your giving as an act of faith. If you give and expect nothing from God, you may not receive returns from your giving. Because most of the time, God’s miraculous acts to his children is triggered in response to the faith of his children.
Then secondly, to ensure your giving produce bountiful or expected returns, always ensure that you obey God hundred percent in your giving, if he asks you to give a particular amount of money or anything to anyone or any course. Ensure you never give below what God instructs you to give per time. And as you diligently obey God in giving, you will definitely continue to enjoy the true riches from God all the days of your life.
