The War of Armageddon

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”—Revelations 16:13-14, 16

In the above opening text, Saint John in his revelation saw three unclean spirits come out of the dragon, which is the devil, the beast, which is the man of sin, and his false prophet. So clearly each of them brought out one unclean spirit out of their mouth. And these three unclean spirits are the spirits with which the devil, the beast and the false prophet will be using for their deceptive miracles in the last days, during the periods of the great tribulation.

The word of God says, during the period of the wrath of God’s judgment (Which I have taught about in a previous message), these unclean spirits will gather the entire leaders of the world for war or battle against the great day of the Lord. Which is the day of the final judgment and retribution of God on all the forces of wickedness in this world. Then the bible says all the kings of the world were gathered into a symbolic place, known in the Hebrew tongue as Armaggedon. Armaggedon, from the Hebrews translation means: the hill or city of Meggido.

From scriptural accounts, Meggido is the scene of struggle of good and evil. Meggido was the place where Barak and his army defeated the Canaanites (Judges 5:19) and it was also the place where King Josiah was killed (2 Kings 23:29). Hence, Armaggedon as used in the book of Revelation, in our opening text, symbolizes a place of great slaughter; the scene of a terrible retribution upon the wicked…

It signifies the place where the kings or leaders opposing Christ are to be destroyed with a great slaughter. In Revelation 17:12-14 the bible also says the ten horns on the heads of the beast, carrying the great whore, mean ten kings who shall wage war against the Lamb which is Jesus Christ. And that Christ will definitely overcome them.

The Conclusive Detail of the War of Armageddon

And I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood and his name is called the word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.”—Revelation 19:11, 13-14

In the above scriptural quotation, John in his revelation says he saw heaven opened, and he saw a white horse with Jesus, who is the Faithful and True, the Word of God, sitting upon the horse. That in righteousness he judged and made war. Verse 14 says the armies of heaven followed him on white horses as well. So the war of Armaggedon will be fought by Jesus along with the saints of God.

In Jude 14-15 the bible says; “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, Prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

So at the war of Armaggedon, Jesus will be coming to earth with the host of his saints from heaven against ungodly people and blasphemers; including the devil, the beast and the false prophet. Here is what the word of God says concerning the final war of Armaggedon, against the Christ and his armies.

And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls of the air were filled with their flesh.”—Revelation 19:19-21

So at the war, Jesus and his armies will definitely conquer the devil, the beast, the false prophet and their armies. Then in the end, the beast and his false prophet will be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone. Then all their followers and armies will be killed with the sword in Jesus’ mouth, which is the word of God.

So all Jesus will be doing to kill all the armies of the devil, will be to speak, and the devil’s armies will all be dead. Then for the devil himself, at the end of the war, an angel will come down from heaven and open the bottomless pit or abyss and chain the devil and throw him into the bottomless pit for a thousand years.

And he will not be allowed to deceive anybody anymore until after the millennial reign of Christ and his saints on earth—Revelation 20:1-3
