How to Reign in Life

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” — Romans 5:17

Towards the end of the year 2024, the Lord impressed strongly in my spirit that the year, 2025, which I’m writing this message, is our year of “Reigning in Life!”

And I have been boldly declaring the sure word of prophecy in different media, so that as many as care to receive, believe and engage with it can receive the practical fulfilment of the word in every aspects of their life.

Now in order to help our faith in engaging with the revealed word of prophecy, it is important we understand what reigning in life is really all about, and how believers in Christ Jesus actually reign in life.

So this post scripturally explains what reigning in life is all about, and the various parameters or indexes for believers’ reign on the earth according to the word of God.

So What is Reigning in Life Really All About?

In Revelation 5:10, the word of God says, Jesus has made us unto our God, kings and priests. And we shall reign on the earth.

Then along the same line, the Apostle Peter, by the Spirit, in 1Peter 2: 9 says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light…”

From these scriptures we can clearly understand that reigning in life means ruling as kings on earth, with all royal parameters or indexes as secured for us by our Lord Jesus, through his redemptive sacrifice.

So When Do Believers Begin to Reign in Life?

Having understood the context of believers reign in the last section, the very next question that comes to mind is “when do believers begin to reign?” and “is the reign not referring only to the millennial reign of the saints after the first resurrection?”

To answer that question, let us read what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians believers in 1 Corinthians 4 : 8, “Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.”

In the above quoted text, Apostle Paul says, as at the time of his writing, in his lifetime, that the Corinthians believers were full, rich and also reigned as kings without them…

Then he went further to say that he would to God that they reigned; in other words he desired that they should indeed reign as kings; so that the Ministers would also reign with them.

Hence, from that text, it is very clear that the believers’ Reign begins here on earth, and it shall ultimately continue in the millennial reign and even in the New Heaven and New Earth.

Anyone that receives the Lord Jesus as his personal Lord and Saviour, immediately receives abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness; and as such, instantly receives the Royal Priesthood Nature to reign in life.

How Do Believers Reign in Life?

Now that it is scripturally clear that believers start their reign in life right here on earth, through grace and the gift of righteousness, how then do believers actually reign in life in practical terms?

The major indexes or parameters for believers’ reign in life can be clearly seen in the book of Revelation 5:12 as I quote, “Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.”

From the above text, the parameters for the believers’ reign on earth are the 7 redemptive packages received for us by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

And they are:

  1. Power: Just like every legitimate king exercises authority and power, believers in Christ Jesus, reign in authority and power. Hence the Lord Jesus tells us that he has given us power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt us (Luke10: 19). So believers reign in power by exercising authority and power over the works of the devil and his cohorts, and other relevant issues of life where the demonstration of power and authority is needed.

  2. Riches: One of the major feature of royalty is wealth and riches. And God has provided us with abundant wealth and riches to reign in life. The word of God says even though Jesus is rich, when he came to earth, he became poor that we through his poverty might be rich (2 Corinthians 8: 9). So believers’ reign in riches in this world and in the world to come.

  3. Wisdom: Proverbs 8: 15 says, by wisdom kings reign and princes decree judgment. So believers reign in wisdom. Specifically, divine wisdom. We reign in wisdom in every area of our lives. We reign in wisdom in our businesses, career, family, marriage, etc.

  4. Honour:  According to the above quoted scripture (Revelation 5: 12), believers also reign in honour. God says, he that honours him he will also honour. So as royal priests in Christ Jesus, we are vessels of honour unto our God.

  5. Strength: In the same book of revelation, we also see that the Lord Jesus Christ also received strength for us, his saints. Strength here, talks about supernatural strength, which also include, inner strength, divine health and healing from God. So believers reign on earth in divine strength and health.

  6. Glory: Glory is another parameter of believers’ reign here on earth and in the world to come. Glory means divine grandeur and decoration. The bible says in Romans 8: 30, “Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” So believers in Christ Jesus reign in glory.

  7. Blessing: The word of God in Galatians 3: 13 -14 says, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”So just like the patriarch, Abraham, was blessed in everything before his death, believers reign in divine blessings on earth in a much greater dimension than Abraham.

  8. Worship: Among other things, as we reign in the above listed providence of redemption, believers also reign in praise and worship to God. Because the world of God says we are royal priests. So we reign in service to God and mankind to the Praise or Excellency of our heavenly father, who is the Lord of lords and King of kings, forever and ever, Amen!

So there you have it. Listed above are the scriptural ways we, believers in Christ Jesus, reign in Life.

And as you read this, if there is any aspect of the above listed royal indexes that is not already realistic in your life as a believer in Christ Jesus, beginning from now, they will begin to find practical manifestation in every area of your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!

Now the very first step to reigning in life, is to receive the Lord Jesus into your heart as your Lord and personal Saviour. If you have not yet received the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and personal saviour, click here to receive him now!
