“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;”–Ephesians 3:16
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might“– Ephesians 6:10
“Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”– 2Timothy 2: 1
In the first theme text above – Ephesians 3:16 – the Apostle Paul, after admonishing the Ephesians believers not to faint because of his tribulations for them (Ephesians 3:13), prays for the believers to be strengthened with might by the Holy Spirit in the inner man.
In the second theme text – Ephesians 6:10 — the word of God instructs every believer in Christ Jesus to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Then in the third theme text – 2Timothy 2: 1 – the word of God instructs us to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
So God’s eternal and omnipotent might is readily available to strengthen every believer in Christ Jesus, in the inner man, through the Holy Spirit…
…but it’s the responsibility of the believer to harness this omnipotent might in him to remain strong in God, in the inner man, at all times; regardless of whatever adversities of life that comes his way. Instead of fainting in the days of adversities…
In this post, I share with you the scriptural secrets for accessing and harnessing the mighty power of God in you as a believer for supernatural inner strength at all times.
7 Secrets of Inner Strength
In Proverbs 24:10, the word of God says, “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small” Hence, every believer needs to learn how to build up inner strength against and during the days of adversities of life. Such as these end time’s days adversities.
Now listed below are the scriptural secrets for inner strength as a believer in Christ Jesus.
1) The Joy of the Lord: “… neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” —Nehemiah 8:10
From the above-quoted scripture, the Word of God reveals to us the number one secret to inner strength—the joy of the Lord. If you must continually enjoy supernatural, inner strength from the Holy Spirit, you must maintain a joyful heart. The easiest way to maintain the joy of the Lord is to be continually singing praises and making melodies in your heart unto God (Ephesians 5:19). As you continually sing praises to God, the Holy Spirit floods your heart with joy, thereby strengthening you in your inner man.
2) Faith “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”– Ephesians 6:16
From the above scripture, it is clear that faith is one of the most potent spiritual, defensive weapons against every dart of the wicked. And these fiery darts of the wicked, are mostly fired to the minds and hearts of believers. These darts include fear, condemnation, feelings of depression, sinful and abominable thoughts, etc. But by faith, the believer can resist and quench all these fiery darts of the wicked.
3) Prayer and Fasting “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”–Isaiah 40:31
Waiting upon the Lord as used in the above quoted text, refers to a Praying and Fasting lifestyle. So another potent secret of receiving and renewing inner strength as a believer in Christ Jesus is maintaining a Praying and Fasting lifestyle. Hence the Lord Jesus says, “Men oft always to pray and not faint” (Luke 18:1). To remain strong in the power of God’s might and in the grace that is Christ Jesus, you must continually spend quality time in prayer on a daily basis. And also be frequently Fasting and Praying.
4) Knowledge of God’s word “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”—Daniel 11:32
The second part of the above scripture says, that the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits—accomplish great things. Now we know God through his word. So if you must access Supernatural Strength in your inner man, you must give yourself to continual study, meditation, and speaking of God’s word; from the scriptures and scriptural teachings from ministers of the gospel.
The scripture calls the word of God, the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). Hence, the word of God is a spiritual offensive weapon of the believer. And when challenges of life strike, the believer releases the word of God against the situation for conquest.
5) Quietness and Confidence “For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.”–Isaiah 30:15
The above scripture says, in quietness and confidence shall be your strength. So a great secret to receiving inner strength amidst the adversities of life is maintaining rest, quietness, and confidence in God amidst adverse and turbulent situations of life. Whatever comes your way as a believer, avoid anxiety and fear. Instead, calm down and rest your confidence in God to receive supernatural strength to handle the situation triumphantly.
6) The Love of God “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us “—Romans 8:35-37
The love of God strengthens the believer to be able to endure every and any form of tribulation of life, distress, and persecution for the sake of Christ.
So if you must stay strong in the Lord as a believer against every form of tribulation, distress, or persecution you must walk in the love of God. And the love of God means a dedicated commitment to doing or practicing the commandments of God.
7) Wisdom “Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.”–Ecclesiastes 7:19
The above text reveals to us that wisdom strengthens a wise man more than ten men. Hence, we must continually walk in divine wisdom in everything we do to enjoy inner strength at all times.
So there you have it. Listed above are seven potent spiritual weapons for accessing and harnessing supernatural, inner strength in your walk with God here on earth. But this supernatural inner strength is only accessible to believers in Christ Jesus.
